We have previously issued notices regarding the prohibition of cashless devices under Network Rules. This message serves as another reminder of the Network Rules regarding cashless devices and the potential penalties for violating those rules.
Scrip terminals (commonly referred to as cashless devices) or Point of Banking (POB) devices operating as ATMs are prohibited under Network Rules. If these terminals are identified as operating as ATMs on our platform, Network fines and interchange reversal fees may be assessed. These penalties can be substantial—up to $50,000 per event, per device, or more.
Any assessed fees and/or fines will be passed through to the ISO. Additionally, any cashless terminals found to be operating as ATMs will be immediately shut down and referred to the Bank Sponsor for further review. This may also result in termination of the applicable processing agreement.
We strongly encourage you to review your locations and ensure compliance with Network Rules to avoid potential disruption and financial impact.
Please reach out to your ISO or CDS Account Manager if you have any questions.
