NFC Support

Thank you for being a valued CDS partner. CDS continues to invest in capabilities to support your ATM business now and in the future.

What is Happening?  

CDS is excited to announce that as part of our commitment to serve you, your business, and the industry, CDS will fully support NFC (Near Field Communication) for both mobile and card at ATMs processed through the CDS platform.

How do I Enable This New Capability?

Implementing NFC capability requires two actions:

1. NFC enablement at the platform level (complete); and  
2. NFC enablement at the ATM level with capable software and hardware.  

CDS is working with OEMs and operators to ensure their access to software version and reader model information to support NFC.

Software version required for NFC support:

Beyond enablement, CDS is improving the performance of NFC transactions by addressing known issues experienced by operators. To our knowledge, CDS is the only ISO focused processor that undertakes formal certification processes addressing both Standard 1 and Standard 3 emulations. Improvements to current market options is targeted for completion by July 2025.  

As you enable NFC at the terminal level, please take full advantage of other security features, such as TR31 and MACing to keep your ATMs safe and secure. Your platform is improving every month and CDS will update you on the progress throughout 2025.
